Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.~Mahatma Gandhi
Avinu Malkeinu,
Today I pray that you would teach us how to have the hospitality of Abraham and Sarah, how to bring rest to those who cross our path, how to give them the best portions of what we have. Help us to run to serve others with joy, just like this sweet family.
Abraham loved others so well that instead of seeking judgment for the wicked, he sought mercy. Help me to love like that. May we not to get so numb to the darkness around us that we become it. I pray that our actions would not cause other people to cry out to you for salvation, for deliverance, or justice like Sodom and Gomorrah, but that our actions would cause others to believe in You and to know that there is good in the world.
Abraham asked to save Sodom and Gomorrah for the sake of 10 righteous humans, yet in the midst of the city, ten righteous people could not be found. Help us to pursue righteousness and do justice for the sake of our communities, so that your mercy would extend to everyone around us. May we make right choices, even if we do it alone and help us walk in truth, even if nobody validates it.
I love that you appeared to Abraham and I pray that you would appear to us, to the person that doesn’t know You’re real to the person that’s never experienced Your love to the person that has never felt Your favor and goodness in their life, I pray that you would appear to them just like you did to Abraham. It says in the Bible that what you seek you will find, so help us to lift our eyes like Abraham, to look for the good in others, to seek truth and the positive so that is what we find. You showed yourself faithful to faithful Abraham, please show Yourself faithful to us.
Love,
Brianna
